A Place for Mom’s Family: An Online Community about Eldercare is an online social networking site that helps connect people who are coping with similar eldercare challenges. It is the nation’s largest eldercare referral network, and consultation is provided at no cost to families.
A Place for Mom, Inc. was looking for a proven .NET social platform to power the launch of its new community Website. After investigating online (through a combination of Wikipedia searches and online user comments), the team at A Place for Mom, Inc. chose Community Server to organize its community site with blogs and discussion forums.
The goal with this community was to create a widely used online site for seniors, families of seniors, and eldercare professionals to share their experiences. Through the use of the new blogs and forums, the staff at A Place for Mom, Inc. is able to keep familiies and seniors up to date on suitable eldercare solutions.
In just a couple of weeks, the new eldercare community amassed 500 users, 745 threads, and 850 posts!
