Community Server Support FAQ

Each commercial edition of Community Server comes with a certain number of tickets (additional tickets may be purchased).  Please note: the FREE Express Edition of Community Server does not include any support tickets.  However, you do have the option of purchasing support tickets for this version.

How do support tickets work?
A support ticket corresponds to 1 hour of time from a support engineer and may be used for either email or phone support (although the number of tickets required for each support type may vary).
Support tickets may be used for:

  • Setup and installation – Assistance with the setup and installation of a licensed product or applications within our suite of products
  • Configuration – Assistance with the configuration of features or applications within the licensed product
  • Troubleshooting – Assistance with problems experience during use of a licensed product
Important: Support tickets do not include fixing problems or bugs introduced with custom development work on the platform.  Customers will be credited an additional ticket for reproducible product defects discovered while working through a support ticket incident.

How many tickets per product?
Please refer to the list below to determine how many tickets come with various editions of Community Server:
  • Enterprise Edition – Community Server 2008 Enterprise Edition includes 10 support tickets
  • Professional Edition -- Community Server 2008 Professional Edition includes 2 support tickets
  • Express Edition – Community Server 2008 Express Edition does not include any support tickets

How much do tickets cost?
Additional support tickets are available for purchase either online or by phone at $200 each. Developer-level support tickets are also available for purchase either online or by phone at $400 each.

Important: Users of the FREE Express version of Community Server are able to purchase standard support tickets.
