The new Microsoft IIS Web site highlights Community Server’s ability to integrate a simplified publishing process based on Wiki software.
Windows Server® 2008 featuring Internet Information Services 7.0 is a powerful Web application and services platform that delivers rich Web-based experiences. It offers improved administration and diagnostic tools to help achieve lower infrastructure costs on a variety of popular development platforms. With improved reliability and scalability, IT professionals and developers can manage the most demanding Web serving environments, from a single Web server to a large Web farm.
The team at Microsoft was looking for a proven software platform to bolster the complete re-design of its www.iis.net site in support of the Windows Server 2008 launch.
Microsoft’s Internet Information Services Web site showcases a clean and simple re-design, a brand-new site for technical content about IIS, ad model updates, the ability to create draft revisions of articles, a breadcrumb/TOC control, support for “Original Author” tracking, and support for video page content types! In addition, the Community Server-based blogs and forums allow community members to post comments, take part in dynamic discussions, and share ideas.
Telligent performed the implementation and integration, and Microsoft worked with a third party to develop the theme design.
“This is a big milestone for our community site. THANK YOU!!!!” Pete Harris, Program Manager, Microsoft
