The team at Avid was looking for a scalable and secure software platform that had been proven in the marketplace on multiple enterprise engagements. Avid wanted to redesign the look and feel of its community Web site and add new features requested by members, super users, and internal team members, all within a condensed timeframe.
By implementing the new Community Server 2008 platform, Avid was able to customize its forums (called Tips and Tutorials), establish more extensive blogs, offer a video exchange similar to YouTube®, modify and integrate various components with the Community Server media gallery, and customize a solution for its Member Points System and Monthly Content Winners (using a batch process and algorithm ratings formula).
