Adventure-Crew, Inc. provides two Web sites (Adventure-Crew.com and Adventure-Space.com) for outdoor adventure seekers to give and receive information on visiting America's National Parks. The sites serve as "Your National Park Outdoor Adventure Resource" and offer FREE adventure info, videos, photos, and "been there" tips for adventurers by adventurers.
Initially, the team at Adventure-Crew, Inc. used an antiquated system for posting pictures, videos, and National Park information. In addition to increasing site visits and participation, the team wanted to provide an easy way for site visitors to share pictures, videos, and park reports.
Adventure-Crew's new Community Server-based site includes a blog and photo gallery that allows users to post news and information, both to the public community site and to individualized blogs and galleries. In addition, the forums functionality was implemented to provide a place of discussion among Adventure-Crew staff and site visitors.
The results to date are staggering: Adventure-Crew experienced a 43% increase in overall visits and a 34% increase in page views! Additionally, implementing a Community Server site has saved time and money (as it was costly for the team to use HTML Web design programs to develop and upload content); it is now easier for the staff to communicate with community members; the new site allows Adventure-Crew, Inc. to promote complimentary services, such as National Park Pages; and the team is now able to expand advertising offers that increase sales revenue and add value for each dollar spent on advertising!
